We Love Your Stuff … And We Love That You Give It To Us!
Goodwill gladly accepts donations of clothing and household items. We sell your donations in our retail stores to generate needed revenue to operate Employment and Training programs, medical equipment refurbishment and donation services and more for people with disabilities and disadvantages.
When choosing items to donate to Goodwill, please remember to give items that you would give a friend or what would likely sell in our stores. If you don’t use it, don’t need it, don’t want it—donate it!
Federal law requires that donated clothing and household goods must be in good used condition or better for tax deductions purposes. However, Goodwill does not assign values on any donated items. All values assigned by the donor. To help you determine the value of your donations, check the Goodwill Valuation Guide.
IRS Publication 561 – “Determining the Value of Donated Property” may also help determine the value of your items for tax deduction purposes.
Goodwill gives each donor a receipt of his donation. Please keep your receipt as Chattanooga Goodwill does not keep permanent records of your donations and is unable to issue duplicate donation receipts.
