Since 1923, Chattanooga Goodwill Industries has been focused on helping people with disabilities and other barriers to employment find meaningful work opportunities so that they can achieve their full potential and participate in all aspects of a productive life.
The idea for a furniture storehouse in Chattanooga to assist people in transition surfaced in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. By 2010, that idea became a reality. The first-year goal was to help 100 families. The actual number helped was more than 300.
The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) gives lower-income, mature adults (55 or older) opportunities to join or re-enter the workforce. We provide paid job-skills training so unemployed individuals gain valuable workplace tools and benefit local non-profits and public agencies.
