Rev. Edgar J. Helms
Goodwill Industries Week was first celebrated in May 1951 as a way to encourage local Goodwill organizations to educate their communities about their mission of “helping people with disabilities help themselves.”
Now in its 66th year, Goodwill Industries Week is observed in a variety of ways across the country – from the hosting of career and job fairs to holding special sales and mission education events. The Chattanooga Mayor’s Office issued a proclamation declaring May 7 – May 13 as “Goodwill Industries Week.”
As North America’s leading nonprofit provider of job training, employment placement services and other community-based programs, Goodwill helps people overcome challenges that prevent them from finding and keeping good jobs. Your support helps us achieve our mission, not just during Goodwill Industries Week – but every day of every week. Thank you!
