Thanks to manpower of a Chattanooga distributing company and donations from Chattanooga Goodwill Industries, the 355 students of Hillcrest Elementary School will have something to add to their own personal libraries this summer.
For the past three years, Bolts & Nuts, a local fastener distributor, has sponsored ‘Community Care,’ a company service project that – among other projects – selects a neighborhood elementary school to help. The company has distributed coats, school uniforms, replacement clothing and books to Hillcrest Elementary and East Lake Elementary schools since it started the neighborhood outreach service. Chattanooga Goodwill has supplied book donations for the summer reading project.
“(The students) were so appreciative and grateful. We have done this project for the past 3 years. Goodwill has helped us every year,” said Rose Young, a Bolts & Nuts sales rep. “We are truly grateful for all (Goodwill does) to support us and the schools. You are making a huge difference in the lives of children and in our community.”
In addition to helping schools. Bolts & Nuts assists Blood Assurance and the Food Bank.
