Volunteers are always needed at Goodwill stores, but there are other ways to share abilities, gain job experience and build a resume.
HELPs Workshop Technician – Goodwill HELPs collects, cleans and refurbishes donated medical equipment and gives it away at no cost. HELPs Volunteers assist in cleaning, refurbishing and organizing equipment in the workshop at 3500 Dodds Ave. between 8 am-2 pm, Monday – Thursday.
Furniture Bank Assistant – The Furniture Bank provides gently-used furniture to people in housing transition. Volunteers help clean, refurbish and organize inventory at 1815 E. Main St. between 9 am-3 pm, Monday – Friday.
Administrative Support Assistant – Office volunteers enter data into a database from handwritten documents, as well as answering phones, greeting visitors, filing, shredding, copying at Goodwill’s main office, 3500 Dodds Ave., between 8 am-4:30 pm, Monday – Friday.
Internships are available at Goodwill’s main office. Occasional travel to various Goodwill locations and other businesses may be required. Office hours are 8 am-4:30 pm, Monday – Friday.
Social Work Intern – Social Work interns work with the Workforce Development which provides paid job training and job search assistance to people with disabilities. Interns help with client intake, interviews and orientation to vocational evaluation, job coaching and other duties.
Information Technology Intern – IT interns provide assistance with equipment; troubleshoot and configure desktop computers; software installation and hardware repair and other duties as required.
Human Resources Intern – Human Resources interns perform duties such as new employee onboarding and orientation help and other duties as assigned.
